A long-range, heavy-lift unmanned helicopter for beyond-visual-range operations, with strong wind resistance and high efficiency. It flies at night and in severe weather, with autorotation landing, automatic emergency parachute release, a radio altimeter, a redundant autopilot and a backup satellite command link — built for autonomous cargo transport to islands, mountainous terrain and remote sites, and for persistent surveillance.
The UVH-500 is built on the Heli-Sport CH-7, a proven piloted light helicopter, rather than a clean-sheet airframe. A modular autopilot family and servo-drive kit convert the aircraft to an unmanned configuration: the cockpit controls and instruments come out, a larger fuel tank and heat exchangers extend range and the operating envelope, and an emergency parachute system goes in. Starting from a mature, flight-proven airframe brings a heavy-lift UAS to the field on a compressed timeline and at lower technical risk.
